How can we help?
Answers checked against the current version of the app.
Real answers from the people who build Tend. If yours isn't here, email support@aiappnation.com — it reaches a human.
Getting started
How long does setup take?
Under eight minutes, by design. Pick who it's for, add your family, and choose a starter routine — you can change every part of it later. Before you build anything, Tend shows you the kid view working on a three-step practice morning, so you know what you're making.
Do my kids need their own phones?
No. The common setup is one phone: you tap "Open for [name]" and hand it over. They get a full-screen kid view with big tap targets, and Face ID brings you back. If an older kid does have a phone, you can send them their own invite instead.
My kid can't read yet. Will this work?
That's who kid mode is built for. Each step is a large picture card, not a line of text, and steps can be read aloud — in your own voice if you've set up Personal Voice on your iPhone. You can also attach a photo of what "done" looks like.
Daily use
What happens if we miss a day, or a week?
Nothing. There are no streaks to break and no progress to lose. Come back after any gap and the routine is exactly where you left it — Tend will just say hello.
What if the morning is already falling apart?
Mark the steps that truly have to happen as essentials. When a routine starts late, Tend runs only those and says it's a short version today. No catch-up guilt.
Can I use Tend for myself, not just the kids?
Yes. Build a routine for yourself the same way. Plenty of parents use Tend for their own morning and never add a kid at all.
Two caregivers
How does my partner get set up?
Send one invite link. They install Tend, tap it, and see the same family, the same routines, and the same progress — no second setup.
What about a grandparent or sitter who won't install an app?
Use the share button on Today to text them a plain-language summary of how the routines went. No app required on their end.
Apple features
Which Apple integrations does Tend use?
- Reminders — completed steps mirror into a "Tend" list, so Siri and your watch can see them
- Calendar — Tend flags a routine that overlaps with something on your calendar
- Siri Shortcuts — "Hey Siri, what's next?"
- Personal Voice — routines can speak in your voice
- Lock-screen nudges — with a "Give me 2 minutes" snooze
All of them are optional and off until you turn them on in Settings.
I use Reduce Motion. Will Tend respect it?
Yes. With Reduce Motion on, Tend holds still — animations are skipped rather than played, everywhere in the app.
Subscription
What's free, and what's paid?
A child's daily routine is never behind a paywall — not on the free plan, not on an expired one. Tend Family covers your whole household, a second caregiver, and the voice features. It's $9.99/month or $79.99/year, with a 14-day free trial.
How do I cancel?
iOS Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Tend. Cancelling stops the renewal; you keep access to the end of the period you've paid for.
I already subscribed but Tend isn't unlocked.
Tap Restore purchases at the bottom of the plan screen, signed in with the same Apple ID you bought it on. If it still doesn't unlock, email us — include the Apple ID email you used.
